SEL Foundations Course
SEL Foundations is a 3-credit, online, graduate-level course designed for classroom teachers and expanded learning staff who work directly with a stable group of pre-K through 12th-grade students. This course is currently offered at no cost to California educators thanks to the generous funding from the California Department of Health Care Services! CalHOPE Partnership with Kelvin Education
CalHOPE knows systemic SEL implementation requires feedback loops across all levels to drive practice improvements. We have partnered with Kelvin Education to better understand, support and improve school culture/climate wellbeing for students and staff in California.
What Is Kelvin?
Kelvin Education is an online tool designed to quickly and easily take the PULSE of a school’s student and adult wellbeing.
Their focus is to reach every California child, then build a sense of belonging, connection, safety, inclusion, and support. With Kelvin, schools/districts can gather real-time data on how their students, staff and families are experiencing SEL, Climate/Culture, and Wellbeing. Data from Kelvin can also inform your LCAP goals and planning.
Our Partnership
Made possible by the generous investment of CA Department of Healthcare Services and leadership from the Sacramento County office of Education, this opportunity enables all CA schools and districts to build sustainable SEL systems and supports for both students and adults. While the no-cost access ended in 2025, there are opportunities to continue receiving Kelvin services at a discounted rate for the next 10 years.
